Report a scam or unauthorised firm

If you think you’ve been contacted by a fraudster or unauthorised firm, find out which scams we can look into and how to make a report.

Anyone can fall victim to a scam, and it can often be difficult to distinguish between a fraudulent offer and a legitimate one. If you’re contacted about:

  • An investment opportunity
  • Your pension
  • Taking out a loan or credit
  • Insurance or warranty products
  • Making a claim

Or if you’re concerned about an investment you’ve encountered online, or a financial service you’ve already paid for, please report it to us. We investigate every report we receive, and your information could help protect others.

Scams We Can’t Assist With
We can only investigate scams related to financial services that we regulate. Unfortunately, we cannot help with:

  • Driving licence scams
  • TV licence scams
  • HMRC and tax scams
  • Competition or lottery scams
  • eBay/Gumtree/Amazon seller scams (e.g., undelivered goods)

If you’ve been targeted by any of these scams:

  • Contact Action Fraud at +44 7520641812 or visit their website.

Be sure to also reach out to the relevant organization or regulator for further assistance.
